Gold erases most of early losses as Trump delivers hawkish tone at U.N. speech

(Kitco News) – Gold prices erased modest early losses in late-morning trading Tuesday. The yellow metal moved up amid a speech to the United Nations in New York by President Trump. He sounded a harsh tone on China’s trade abuses and warned Iran’s leaders the world won’t stand for their continued acts of violence in the Middle East. Trump also espoused a nationalist theme and said the days of “globalization” are over. December gold was last down $0.60 at $1,531.00.
