(Kitco News) – Gold and silver prices have extended early gains and have hit new daily highs in late-morning action Monday. Safe-haven demand and technically related buying are pushing the metals prices north, with silver sporting very strong gains. With geopolitical issues still near the front burner of the marketplace and with the markedly improved chart postures for both metals early this week, look for more price appreciation in the near term.
December gold futures were last up $15.40 at $1,530.60 and December silver was last up $0.816 at $18.66 an ounce.
