Gold Slips Below Unchanged As U.S. Dollar Firms

(Kitco News) – Gold prices have lost their moderate gains seen earlier, in late-morning trading Monday. The yellow metal slipped to its daily low as the U.S. dollar index pushed above unchanged and to its daily high. A lack of fresh, bullish fundamental inputs has also invited some speculative selling interest in gold. August gold was last down $1.70 an ounce at $1,398.50.
