(Kitco News) – Gold prices are modestly up and near their daily highs in late-morning trading Friday. The precious metal is seeing some added buying interest as the U.S. stock market has lost its early gains heading into a long U.S. holiday weekend. December gold was last up $2.70 at $1,539.70.
